Hello,

This is my first time posting here so I guess a proper hello is in order
"Hello"

I am building a web page at work and I have decided to go all out and use
Flash. I have the site built and everything is working great, except for one
feature. I have never tried to do this before so please bare with me.

Is it possible for an outside user coming into my page to have the ability to
print upa document and/or a jpeg? I know that I can link to a HTML page but my
goal here is to make it as fast as possible, because many of my users are
connecting wirless about the same speed as dialup. Is there some actionscript
out there that can do this for me. If so can someone please point me into the
right direction. I do not even know what this function is called if there is
such a thing.

Certainly, use print() or printAsBitmap(), whichever looks better. These
functions are a bit funky so follow the instructions closely and feel free to
experiment. When the user clicks your Print button it will bring up the usual
system dialog to select printer, set portrait vs landscape etc.

Here is an example, Print button is to lower right

Help! I hope you don't mind that I sort of coat tail on this question and
response. I am a very new Flash and Dreamweaver user. I'm trying to learn it
all on my own. I'm not a developer or a designer. I am with a small firm where
we are our own tech support. I am trying to re-do some basic stuff on our
company web site. My major road block is understanding printing and how it
works with Flash and Dreamweaver. Believe it or not, I have searched and
searched this site, bought Flash Dummy books and am waiting on a few more other
books. I'm relatively smart, I can usually teach myself new software no
problem. I am stumped. I understand how to print Flash and set up frames to be
printable but am stumped when we talk about inserting different flash files
into different cells within Dreamweaver and having it print. I'm using
Dreamweaver to edit the web pages and I'm inserting Flash media into a
Dreamweaver table to use as my template for the header links. Why can't I print
correctly? What do I need to do? Is it doable without all sorts of code? Do you
have any advice or resources to use. I want my viewers to look at the site and
when the print either from browser or from a print icon, they print what is
viewed on the screen. Not just the Dreamweaver text or flash media on
individual pages. Please Help! kmk@docksq.com
