Hi
Could you please help me with this little supid thing that's been bothering me
for hours. A can't get a graphic to fade in! A want to make a motion tween with
a square that fades in from white to the colour I've chosen. Can you help me?

Sure. Your graphic must be a symbol first, THEN you can apply effects to it.
To make it a symbol, select the graphic on the stage and click the F8
button. In the dialog box that comes up, give it a name and decide if it is
to be a button, graphic or an MC. Once this is done, you are ready to tween
it, fade it, twist it, whatever you want with it.
