Importing Adobe Illustrator CS into Flash MX

| When I try to import my adobe illustrator cs files into flash mx, they come out
with out some of the patterns and fills. Why is this? I want to use the
functionality of vector graphics - therefore the reason I don't want to save
the file as a gif or something of the sort - but at this point it seems like
the only thing left. I've saved the file as ai v9, v8, and v10, but it all
comes up the same, without all my layers and their transparency settings.
Thanks for any help in advance!

| Don't use transparency, gradient fills and patterns in .ai - file.
Export .ai - file to .swf - file.
Import this .swf - file into Flash.
Separate objects on layers if you need.
Use transparency, gradient fills and patterns in Flash.

| Ouch! So pretty much, if I'm designing for flash, I should design in flash. I
tried to use a pattern in flash earlier this week, but it came out looking
quite terrible. Is there a good way or different way to do this? (I used a
"bitmap" fill)
