when you insert a flash file into a table in dreamweaver how do you get rid of
the white box that shows up befor the movie starts, I have a colored background
the same color is the background color of the table and the flash file but it
shows up white for a split second at the launch of the site.

you need in the first frame of the entire .swf a simple rectangle whit the same color of the background in dreamweaver, doing this flash will charge first this frame while his charging the hole file
