| Hey people,
I'm creating a web-site in Flash and I'm having font trouble. Anytime I
preview my file in a web browser or in .swf preview my fonts look very blurry
and bitty...! I'm using Ariel at pt size 11 and for some reason it loks very
poor quality when in the browser..! Am I doing something wrong?
I've been told to make my text boxes sit at (x= 6.0 y=2.0 instead of using
fractions e.g x=6.15 y=2.17 etc) and have also tried everything with
antialiases etc but still the font looks poor!!
Is there anything I can do?
Have a look if u can to see wot I mean...

I'd really appriciate some help,
Thanks
Mike.

| hi Mike,
You can try any of these. First, try setting the quality value of the swf file
to high in the HTML page. Second, you can try breaking up the fonts in flash
and then grouping them back. Hope this might help you.

| Well actually it has always been like that, as flash by default antialiases
type. In MX2004 there's an option in the properties panel that allows for
turning of anti-aliasing though. Other options:
- use device font and/or do not embed font (dynamic and input fields)
- use pixelfont (does antialias but when properly used will be invisible)
- set movie quality to low (bad option as it affects the whole movie
Urami has a great reply to these issues covering it all. Check the google
link below.

| i think its bcoz of 'static text'.. while exporting flash will break static
fonts... so its look blurry..
since ur using 'ariel' , from properties window, check the option' use device
fonts'
so ur text will look sharper..
note: don't use any custom fonts... use ariel, verdana, times, ms sans....
hope this helps
