Author accessing network resources from Flash
The Law

I built a static site with a flash front end and no back end. It allows
e-learning students to click a link to their course on-line. The LCMS software
allows courses to be deployed on a local network also. If my client ran the
..exe or .swf embedded in a .html page, how could a build a link that would take
a user to the application login on the local network? I'm guessing flash can't
talk to a local drive, but what about a local host path or something similar?
Any help would be much appreciated as I'm working to a deadline. Eventually
the site will be published to the web so students can link to a website which
is obviously easy to do from flash
