I'm designing a site for a client that wants an intro to his portfolio site. In
this intro there's a few tweens and little character animations that eventually
trigger a video to open up. The problem I seem to be having is integrating the
video into the animation. I've tried it many different ways. Let me explain
what i've done so far. It's 3 minutes of video roughly 30 or 50 mb. First I
tried linking it externally. But it says if I link it externally the video wont
be viewable until I export the whole flash animation with the linked video as a
quicktime movie. And I totally cant have a quicktime movie as an intro. It's
not what he wants. There's some functionality involved with the intro too, so
exporting as a movie is out of the question.

So then I tried integrating it into the timeline. It worked but only sort of.
For some reason it kept crashing my computer everytime I went to try and export
as a .swf. One time I got it to work as integrating the video into the timeline
without it crashing but the video was all messed up, it wasnt clean and clear
or as fast as it should've been.

And the other thing I tried to do was create a whole new document and
integrated the video into the timeline thinking I could somehow trick the
program into thinking I was just calling on a swf instead of a mov. But that
didnt work because when I tried to integrate the video into the timeline it
came up as all blank keyframes

So I guess what i'm asking is if anyone could give me any suggestions on how
to get this to work. I mean I want the video, clean, clear, and for it to play
as fast as it normally does. And i'd rather have it linked externally...but if
not thats okay too...as long as it works

Can anyone help? I will offer anything I can in return

Thanks! I'll give that a try. If you have any other suggestions just in case this doesnt work let me know i'm almost desperate at this point.

id recommend using sorenson squeeze and converting it into an FLV file

from there either use flash communication server to stream for both flash 6
and flash 7 compatibility

or use the built in progressive stream for only flash 7 support.
