My "main" movie is a shell containing templates and the user-interface. Within this shell are two content areas. Each button in the site's navigation menu loads two external swf files into the shell, one for each content area. The external swf's are co
nfigured such that neither one will begin playing until both are completely loaded (synchronization). Considering that the site can be viewed on a variety of machines, 14.4K modem through high-speed cable modem, what would you consider to be a reasonable
combined total file size for the two external swf files? The trade-off is: smaller file size = faster download but poorer jpg quality, larger file size = slower download but higher jpg quality. The external swf's are pre-loaded after each navigation me
nu selection, so it's only the initial download that would cause a delay. During this delay, there is animation and audio which plays in the shell to keep the user distracted. Thanks.
