Microsoft Lawsuite-Active X Changes effecting Flash Object code

| I recently heard about this Lawsuite against Microsoft and understand the new IE browsers 2004 coming out any-day-now, will incorporate the latest "lawsuite" effected changes regarding the Active X controller for embedded tags, object tags & Applet codes.
Understanding that this will poorly effect the user experience with a bunch of nasty pop-up windows - asking if they want to allow any flash components to load... ahhhhhh - my question is this:
Does anyone know if Macromedia is providing a "patch" for this for FlashMX 2003?
I haven't purchased the new 2004 version of Flash yet, nor do I have the $$$ to do so at this time. So if they don't provide a patch, it looks like I'm going to have a lot of hand coding to fix all my current sites to work in the new browser.
Please advise.

| Yep, leave it to Microstupid to always be making life hell for us developers. Somebody really needs to slap them around a bit and get them to play by the same rules as everybody else.

| It would be my suggestion, that if you are not vb knowledgeable (as I am not), then post this msg on a couple flash forums (including flashmx2004.com, kirupa.com) and hit a couple of VB forums and see if you can't get enough encouragement out there for so
meone to do one of the following:
Write an html script that overrides the flash check but has additional coding stating why the page is non-viewable - for .swf's embeded in html
Or an actionscript for .swf popups that verify the status of the browser using java or XML (as these are available in flashmx 04,
or possibly even write a vb program to upgrade the activeX controller to check IE itself for active X compatibility, then override the need for an Active X warning screen or popup or input into IE as a Tools option under advanced?. This way, those people
that have installed the appropriate filters in their computers will not need to deal with any 'requests'
I am not VB smart and am probably not wording everything correctly, but I think the point is still the same.
