help anyone,

i'm in the middle of a project and discovered that i have used unusual fonts that are most likely not installed on most machines. my question is, how can i convert all the type into actual objects without having to go and convert each and every letter? is
there a way to select all the type and tell it to become shapes?

would be a lifesaver with answer i'm looking for :-)

thanx, jemac

you have two options:
1_ Convert the font to outlines by breaking the text, or press CTRL+B
2_ To set the text box to dynamic mode (from the Properties panal), then embed the fonts by clicking the Character button (also in the Properties panal).

There is absolutely no need to worry about that. Flash will embed the outlines for each and every letter of every font of static text that you use in your movie. If you are using dynamic or input text, where it cannot know what to expect, it will embed wh
atever you tell it to. Look at the Size Report at the bottom and see the price in bytes that you pay for this.

thanx pete hughes.

i turned off all my fonts after i published my movie and checked it out in my browser and all the fonts were there.

it scared me for the reason that when i turned my fonts off the fonts dissapeared in my flash file, however thanx to you, i realize that flash is displaying whats loaded on my machine, yet the .swf published file is actually displaying what is embedded bu
t not what is installed on my machine.

thanx again, i thought i got myself into a jam on that one. jemac
