Hi,

Is there an addin available for FP2003 that would allow an autosave
setting? Or some other solution?

Thanks!

No
- and you would never want one , especially if working on live server

But any time you try to close an unsaved page that has been edited FP does prompt you to save it

This is offline editing. Crashes have caused lost work wen editing for
30 minutes and forgetting to save. I find it odd there is no autosave
solution?

Thanks,

However FP can be used for both online and offline editing. If you are having crashes, you need to
take a look at your system.

Still not a good idea, if you work on live/remote sites.

Tina,

Thanks much! It has a 2001 date - do you know if it will work with
FP2003?

Thomas,

It's all offline. Just a simple newsletter. But it's 5+ pages long. A
pain to redo if not saved.

Sorry no .. I did look for one so I could mention that but it's not on the
page or the confirmation dl page...

I would also try the microsoft addin site .. where there might be a
different download .. there usually they list which version ... on the link
I gave you I think there is a location for feedback? so u might ask...

I just rememembred seeing this somewhere so just did a google and found it
for you...

You can but try it with fp 2003 (at your own risk)

Another idea if this does not work is to have a egg timer on your desk ..
each time it goes off reset it ... and save...

or use outlook to set a reminder while your working ... or there must be
free progs out there that do reminder stuff if u don't have that.

if your working on a nl five pages long ... is that five files or a page
that prints out as five pages?

.....if all else fails ... you will have to train yourself to save every now
and again... which is what I do... it helps having worked with word before
ever using fp ... which i hardly use any more...

these crashes... look to spyware ... clean out your fp temp files (there is
a free fp cleaner addon)
also ie temp files ... there is a lot u can do to clean up the system ...
