My question is this. After creating the links on my site in the site map view
and having all my linked files set up with the plus sign, I went on to start to
populate my site files. I just checked the Site Map and noticed that all my
files in there, except the index.htm file, are locked out and have the file
names under them in red and the plus signs are gone. I loaded the index.htm
file in my browser and all the links, text, and images are working just fine. I
did a search on links and found that all the links they listed are just code of
an "Im src" and don't need a link. Since everything works in my browser, does
it really matter if the "Site Map" has all the files locked out and is it okay
to upload the site to my server?

Are you using Contribute? Did you tick the checkbox for this to be a
Contribute site... I think (because I really don't understand what you are
seeing), are you using Checkin/Checkout?

Here is what I'm seeing. Open Dreamweaver, open files panel, instead of
viewing Local View, switch to Map View, then expand the panel. Now you are
looking at you Index.htm file with its links structure to all the other files
for the web site. The Index.htm file, at the top, can be clicked on to get the
Point-to-File icon to link it to files. But all the .htm files under the
Index.htm file, which are linked to that file, are all locked to where you
can't click on them to get their particular Point-to-File icon. Aso, the file
names under these files are now in red and the plus sign next to them that show
all files they are linked to are gone. But yet when I view in the IE browser,
all my links work. My question is does that matter that I can no longer get in
to the Map View files to change any of their links, since they are locked out,
and will it affect my upload of my site to my server.
