What is the differnece between using Dreamweavers insert tables, and using layers, vs. using CSS?

lol no, I was just wondering really what the difference is between tables and layers.. ie why use one over the other.

For now, forget that layers even exist. Until you are pretty familiar with
HTML, layers will only get you into trouble.

Hmm - you are? And you would ask that question? There seems an
inconsistency there, then.

Anyhow, learn CSS. Learn about normal flow, and inline vs. block tags, and
floats, and box models. Then you'll be ready for positioning.
