I would really appreciate help on this. In the past I've not had a problem
creating a table and then placing a small JPG file inside of it. Now I'm trying
to help a friend make a simple website in Dreamweaver and every time I go to
add the JPG file, it shows up as a "broken image" icon and won't work no matter
what I do. What could be going wrong? Everything is fine with the file as far
as I can tell.

Additionally, there's this strange thing going on where when I go to preview
the image in a browser, it says it cannot locate the file. So something must be
wrong with the file path, but it looks perfectly fine to me. I've compared the
location of the page to the file path being called up in the browser and it's
exactly the same. What is going on? Are these two problems related somehow?

It's extremely frustrating as there doesn't appear to be anything out of order.

Thanks so much for any advice!

You need to upload the problem page and post a link to it here.
Otherwise, we can only guess: Norton ad-blocking, messed up paths,
image uploaded to wrong place on the server...whatever..

Basically I'm not even dealing with a server at this point, so I'd have no way
of uploading the page anywhere right now. It's a local site on the computer at
the moemnt, and I've saved the image in question within the site folder as I
normally would. Then I go to add the image, inside of one of the tables, and it
just doesn't happen. What may be useful to know is that the JPG file is showing
up in my site directory as if it's not sure what file type it is. It's got that
blank white page icon next to it. Not sure why this would be because everything
is fine with the file as far as I can tell. It's just Dreamweaver that seems to
have a problem with it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Meanwhile, I'll
work on seeing if I can upload the page somewhere. Thanks!

Are you working in a defined site?
Is this image in a folder in the defined site.
Maybe post a the code that shows the link to this image if you can't upload
the page sometime soon.

Hi all, thank you for your help. After tinkering around with it for a while
discovered that the problem lay in the images being given a long and erroneous
file path once entered into a page. So it was just a matter of erasing that
whole file path in the "src" window. Not sure why that's happening but at least
now I can correct the problem. Thanks again for your efforts.

If that's happening, then your site is not properly defined. DW doesn't
make such errors without being told to by *you* the operator.
