| Hi,
I'm a new user to Dreamweaver, and brand new at doing any kind of web design.
I have used one of the templates in dreamweaver to try and make a site. My
problem is that the bottom of the area where the text is located continues even
after the text is finished. So I have a large blank white area that continues
to the bottom of the web browser page. I did try and look in the help section,
that didn't do much good. I am using a mac os 10.4.5, and dreamweaver 2004. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Bob

| Also, to add to that. How do I make my text area expand to different size resolutions of screen size. My text area stays the same no matter what resolution I am viewing it in.
Thanks again,
Bob

| Here is a genuinely sincere suggestion. Back away from the computer. Get a
book on HTML. Spend 2 weeks reading and studying HTML. The more you know
about it, the easier DW will be. After two weeks the entire character of
the things about which you have questions will have changed....
And the good news is that then you will be able to uderstand the answers
that you get here. 8)

| Hi Bob,
Sounds like you make have repeating paragraph tags at the end of your page or
line breaks. Check your code for excesive <p>   </p> tags and <br> tags.
With regards the text area size expanding ... sounds like you have text in a
table and that the table has a set width (in pixels). This means that nomatter
what screen size you view your page, the table will always be rendered in the
browser at the same width. On a small screen this could cause side scrolling!.
Not nice
Select the table and using your porperties menu set your table widths to a
%age value. The table, and its contents, will then expand to the %age width of
the screen you have set. Check your help menu for assistance with changing
table width values.
Hope this is helpful.
All the best now :o)
