Author Best practise for structuring web page?

As a newbie to DW, I'm not sure of the best way to put content in a page - is
there a universally accepted best practise? As I understand it there are three
ways to insert content - just typing it in like a word processor, drawing
tables, or drawing layers. With a background in adobe illustrator, my
instinctive approach to using DW would be the layers. But what is the best
approach? Can anyone point me to a good article on this? Sorry if it's a
stupid question

Look at the thread from today titled: "The most efficient approach to
create a website"
A little bit of advice there ....
