best mouseover method...

| I am now attempting to rewrite a page without all the layers I had previously
used... (layers which like to all end up 4 pixels in some wrong directing
depending on what browser I use to preview the site... grrr...)
Here's the process I need to duplicate without the layers:
I have a list on the left of ten items.
Upon mouseOver of any of the 10 items, three blocks (I'm currently using a
table to give them shape) show text corresponding to the item in question.
Previously I was just using the "Show-Hide Layers" behavior, because it was
the only way I was aware of to do this.
In any case, now that that method has proven a rather large waste of time, I'm
looking for a better method.
Thanks!

This is operator error.

It's a waste of time because text in layers is big trouble. Unfortunately,
it's about the only way to get this kind of thing without knowing enough to
hack into the code. Why not show me your page with the layers?
