Image won't center in Dreamweaver 8

| Hello,
I've been using Dreamweaver for years but I'm new to Dreamweaver 8. I've got
a little problem that I can't figure out and it's driving me crazy!! I'm using
a template page with a table in it for all my content. The content should be
centered withing the table. When I place an image and want to center it, the
image itself moves to the center... but there is a BLUE BOX/hightlight that
stays on the left. The Blue box is the size and dimension of the actual image
and appears to be some kind of visual aid stating that the image isn't 'really'
centered -- even though the actual image moves to the center. When I check it
in a browser, The image appears centered in Safari but is alligned left in IE.
I don't know what to do. I've never seen this before and can't find any
mention or documentation for it. It is driving me nuts!!! It seems like it
should be so easy to fix, but I've tried anything and can't even figure out
what it is. Please help.

| I updated the template page to center align the table, but all images still
left justify no matter what I do.
I also center aligned the table on the thoughts and the links page.
I updated to Dreamweaver 8.0.1 (I should have done that first) and that didn't
help either =(.
The only work around I've found thus far is to take each image and put it into
it's own (1 row, 1 col) table with the exact dimensions of the image -- and
then center the table and nest it into the document. However, if you expand
the table past the image dimensions, the image reverts back to the left! So,
you can't put anything BUT the image in the table. That creates an
unnecessarily complicated document.
If I revert back to Dreamweaver MX or MX 2004 the problem goes away so it is
definately an 8 issue. Do you think there might be another bug fix on the way?
I'm sure all of this might be solved if I learned how to allign with CSS only,
but I'm not there yet, and just for today, I need to get this site done. I
also need to make sure the client can edit it when it gets to them, and I don't
think they will understand pure CSS design any better than I do. For now, I'm
still using tables even though I know there are other, possibly better, ways.
Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it!
