| there's nothing wrong with using index1.html as a test page... and the reason the directories are showing is because there's no index.html page.

| Ask your host to turn off folder browsing. This is a security risk.

| You can also use .htaccess to hide the directory contents if you wish.
Just google htaccess for directions. (only works on Apache
servers)

| :cool; A nice, clean looking site!
2 questions however.
#1 why is there no text on the third nav button (under "custom art") and
#2, why does "Web Design, J Tyler & Company" not link directly to their site?
no criticism, just curiosity.
| |
|
| #1, It is just a placeholder, only way I know how.
#2, Is my Web Design site,,,yet to be built,,lol
Thanks, and I don't mind criticism, I need it.

It's nice enough. You may want to try to optimize this image:
http://www.pictureanythingonline.com/images/pilogo1.gif
It's 65k which is more than the page, including ALL images should be.

In addition, you've used HTML attributes to resize it. If you want it to
be a different size, use your image editing app to set it to that size.
HTML-resized images tend to look awful.
For your menu, trot over to http://projectseven.com/ and look at some of
their tutorials and menu products.

| it looks lovley - soem of the images and and the nav bar shift slightly when
you go to a new page. click art - abstract, scenery, black and white - this
demonstrates vert much the alterartions in the nav bar.
have you heared of the 3 click rule also - for ease of navigation you should
alow your visitor to get to any part of your site within 3 clicks - the fact
all links except home aren't seen when you go into the art section kind of
hinders the navigation a little.
you should be able to see a contact us link from every page if your site -
make things as easy as possible for the user - people are lazy beggers.
i dodn't understand why on the home page the nav is on the left - then on all
other pages it is top centre - you should try and keep your site looking as
uniform as possible.
Please don't think i'm just critisising for the sake of it, not at all - this
is advice. you don't have to take it but it will make yor site better.
the colours, feel and general look of the site are all lovley - and very
suited to the objects on sale / target market. - i wouldn't change anything
there

| Toxic, Ah yes, I do see what you mean.......thanks
and thanks Joe, I do need to work on that gif.
| |
|
| How can I keep my top center menus uniform, when my pictures down below (vary
in size) and throw off
the rest of the page?

| so I've seen this site twice this month in different iterations. Where
is the template from? Last time I saw this site it was exactly the same
but for a landscape company, www.plantnj.com/ and here in a different
color as www.rramputee.com/
