Author Images with full http:// path instead of site relative

New with DW8 I first noticed that when you insert an image using a full URL
path (ie: http://www.domain.com/images/name.jpg") instead of just a relative
path (ie: images/name.jpg) they would actually show up in DW design view. This
is great, however, I've come to notice that this is VERY picky and I can't
figure out what makes it show the iimage and what's wrong when it won't.

I do lots of eBay templates and that's why I have to use full URL paths for
the images. It makes it more difficult to design in DW when I can't actually
see the images.

I've got one template setup with a CSS that loads a repeating bg image and
then I also have lots of other images in the template as well. The only images
that don't show up are images that are dynamically inserted and that's expected.

I have another template that I've setup in just the same manner, using CSS to
insert a repeating BG image. On this one, though, the background image isn't
showing up and therefore I get a blank white background in DW design view.

I have yet another page that uses images stored in the same exact folder on my
web server and I link to them in the same manner:
http://www.domain.com/images/1.jpg, http://www.domain.com/images/2.jpg. In DW,
though, only 1 of these shows up in design view!

Any information on what's going on with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
