Since this forum has provided me with valuable information - I thought it would
be nice to share the following discovery.

I just spent days looking for a way to clean the bloated css garbage from HTML
files created by MS Word. I tested PERL scripts, VB scripts, voodoo scripts,
and holistic remedies...some helped a little bit, but none did the job well. I
even tried a website that lets you clean small HTML files but charges you for
larger files (if you pay for this service, you must own a pet rock).

I finally discovered a program that completely cleans ALL MS Word css and crap
from any HTML files. It even lets you customize the cleaning options. The
program is WordCleaner at www.wordcleaner.com. It is simple, fast, and does
what it advertises. Well done, programmers!

No offense intended, but you do realize DW 8 has a built-in feature to clean up Word HTML right? (Commands->Clean Up Word HTML)

If you copy from the Word DOC file and paste directly into DW's Design view,
you lose all of that scruff.

SnakEyez: No offense taken, but Dreamweaver's Clean Up Word HTML function still
leaves CSS code in the cleaned version. I needed to remove all CSS tags so I
could use the file in RoboHelp.

Murray *TMM*: Thanks for the instructions on copying and pasting in Design
View...I will use it. The only problem I found was that the copy and paste
method CHOKES on large documents and displays an error requesting smaller
files.

> CHOKES

This is true. I think 150K is the maximum size....
