I just got Dreamweaver version 8.
I did an upgade to my version 6.0.
I now have 2 versions on my PC.
Do I need to uninstall version 6.0 or should I leave it?
I have 2 icons on my desktop and for now i've just deleted the version 6.0
icon.
All my info and settings carried over into version 8.
I just want to be sure I don't lose any of that if I delete version 6.0.

Thanks for your help.

If everything is intact, you shouldn't have a problem uninstalling the older
version. At any rate, I would export all site definitions to a folder
outside the whole program just for safekeeping. I starting doing this as
soon as the function was available and it has saved me more than once.

You may need to manually migrate any custom snippets, but if your sites and
your extensions migrated properly, you can safely uninstall DMX6x.

I'm just the PC Tech here and I don't actually use the application.
Could you possibly walk me through the process of exporting all site
definitions to a folder
outside the whole program?
Our IT Dept lost all their data a few years ago and they're very touchy about
it anytime we have to make upgrades to their image.
This information could be really useful.

Thanks again for your help.

Open DW8. Select SITE | Manage Sites...

Ctrl- or Shift-click to select sites in the list, and click on the Export
button.

Follow the prompts.
