| I'm very green re website stuff. I've been using freebie software with open
source templates, have been managing ok but thought I'd give Dreamweaver a go
but I can't even get started, I can't get the templates to open up correctly -
fonts and colours all over the shop. Please say there's a simple answer...

| Can you post more specifically what the problem is? Just saying "fonts and
colours all over the shop" isn't much to go on.
Have you worked your way through the tutorials accessible from the Help
menu? If not .. give that a try and then come back here with specific
problems you may be having.

Please give us a simple question with a few facts :-)
Like Nancy, I cannot work out what it is that you're experiencing.
If you can give us a step-by-step explanation of what you're doing and what
you're seeing on your screen, it would be a good start.

| Ok, when I opened the template in Dreamweaver the main body text had increased
to pt 50 and changed from black to pink. The navigation bar tabs were no
longer in the right position, the text in the links had decreased in size and
the text under the heading Fine Print had decreased and changed to black.
On previewing in the browser it all shows correclty so the downloading must be
ok.
The template I downloaded is: http://www.oswd.org/design/preview/id/2631
Shout if you need more info.
Thanks

| Which Version of DW are you using?
I couldn't get to the link you provided - taking too long to download or
something....
Does the page come with a stylesheet? Is the stylesheet linked correctly?

| I'm still having problems with templates. There was something wrong with the
link, don't know what, but as it seems to be working now -
http://www.oswd.org/design/preview/id/2631 - just wondered if anyone could tell
me why I'm having trouble? (I've downloaded more than one design, the problem
isn't unique to this one)
As a reminder of my problem, the font sizes and colours change when I open
templates in DW, although when I view in the browsers all looks fine.
I'm using Dreamweaver MX 2004 on a Mac OS X
Thanks
