This is so annoying.

Yes I have searched but I can't find an answer to this, and yes I do know this
is the most asked question on the forums, maybe Macromedia should do something
about it.

Anyway.

i have a site that I built some time ago with UltraDev, I use JavaScript
mainly and the site works well (it's a company intranet) We upgraded to MX 2004
a while ago too but I've not had anything interesting to code so I haven't
really used it before.

Now I need to add a new DB to the site (simply news thing) so I open it up,
find the site, add a page, add a DSN/recordset and such then try to add some
dynamic text and I get the old favourite 'setup a testing server' message.

It's all set up as far as I can see.

Local Info:
Local root folder: \\venus\wwwroot
HTTP address http://venus

Remote Info:
Access: Local./network
Remote Folder: \\venus\wwwroot\

Testing Server:
server model: ASP JavaScript
Access: local/Network
Testing server folder: \\venus\wwwroot\
URL Prefix http://venus/

If happily goes off and builds a cache, then fails to tick the box. I have
tried changing the testing server to another IIS server but the results are the
same.

If it helps everything is Microsoft IIS. Venus is running NT4 Server

Any ideas will be gratefully received.
