Author How can I get a "clean" re-installation of Dreamweaver 8

Cold Fusion and my application is running fine but Dreamweaver can't find the
databases and the "Test Cold Fusion Administrator" fails - I'm certain it is
because it's still referring to the previous failed installation's config
information.

Before re-installing I manually deleted the entire DreamWeaver8 folder at:
C:\Documents and Settings\John\Application Data\Macromedia
which physically removed the configuration info.
How do I flush the old info - or change it from inside of Dreamweaver? Does a
Registry Value need to be changed? Why don't the installations install cleanly?
Can someone point me to a Technote or other clue ?
