I am trying to install Studio 8 on my new machine with XP Pro x64. I keep
getting a MS error 1719 that says the Windows Installer service can not be
accessed. I tried downloading the Installer update from microsoft but am still
having no luck. Can anyone guide me on how to install Studio 8? Or please
advise, do I have to go back to MX 2004? Any help would be much appreciated.

There is a reason that system requirements were developed. If you noticed in
previous versions Windows ME was never support although it was just a minor
update to Windows 98SE.

I cannot even guarantee for you that installing MX2004 will work for you. You
may want to go post on the AMD forums or the Windows newsgroups and see if
there are ways of getting around installer issues because I suspect DW is not
the only affected program.
