Alternative to Using Libraries?? Help Needed

| does anyone have an idea for an alternative to using a Library item for a piece
of code that is replicated hundreds of times and updated yearly? I have a
customer with a gigantic archive. Each year I archive off data and add a number
of entries to the navigation for the archive which is a library item. When I
update the library item Dreamweaver goes off and includes the new code in every
page in the archive. There are over 50 pages that get updated now and they
increase every year. Isn't there a way to tell Dreamweaver to go reference the
item instead of hardcoding it into every single page that uses it??? :confused;

| 50 pages, with one change a year?
If you don't mind the manual update of an .lbi, that's the easiest.
It sounds like you are in there moving stuff to archive it anyway.
Using an SSI serversideinclude wouldn't make much difference- you'd still
have to do a manual update of the one include file.

| Investigate server-side includes. Change one file and upload it - that's
all you would have to do.

| thanks Murray, any reference material you'd recommend??

| H Alan,
the archive has been going on for about 5 years. I archive about 15 pages of
data each year all at once. I then update the navigation to allow the user to
access any of the 15 new + 50 old pages. Next year I'll have 15 new + 65 old.
One include file instead of having to update the library embedded navigation on
all the pages would much easier.
Thanks
