Author Update remote file list while switch dev site

Dear sir

When I switch between development site , the Dreamweaver 8 need updateing the
list of remote file, and it alway take a long time to refesh the list, during
this action I can't do anything in Dreameaver 8, until it finish, and how can I
stop this function, because I need switching between a different web site.
