Looking for Scripts
|

| I am setting up a new website, and I wanted to use coppermine.com for the photo
gallery. However, it needs mysql which my web hoster, does not support. The
tech guy said,
"You can find some scripts on the internet that work with Windows."
My problem is that I have no idea what to look for or even where to start, can
anyone help?
Thanks

What can you use on that host? ASP? What for a database? Access or MSsql?
to find a script after you narrow down what can work- go to
http://hotscripts.com -->ASP -->Scripts and Programs -->Image Galleries

| What type of database are you allowed to use with your host?
If you do not know you can either ask them, or post a link to their site and I will be able to tell just by looking at what they offer.

?? Is there a question in that ??
No there wasn't a question, but it is a response to the question I was asked
of what hoster I use.
Thanks

| I don't see any information related to databases on that website. I would
recommend that you contact this host in regards to this information.
Otherwise, there is the possibility that you would not be allowed to use a
database, which means the only way you would be able to host a gallery script
that utilizes DBM databases. The trick about DBM databases is that they are
installed as long as you are allowed to use PERL on the server, which it
appears you are able to use. However, the problem there is finding scripts
that still utilize these types of scripts because they tend to be resource hogs
which is the reason many hosts don't allow them, and also they have become
obselete with the emerge of SQL databases.
