| Hello,
I am trying to connect to a mysql database that I have set up with phpMyAdmin
through my hosting provider (Media Temple).
However, when I try to create the mqsql connection using Dreamweaver, I get a
message that says:
1. There is no testing server running on the server machine
2. The testing server specified for the site does not map to
http://myservername/_mmServerScript...ts/MMHTTPDB.php - verify
that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site
I checked on my site and did not see a folder called _mmServerScripts at the
root level. Do I just create this folder - if so, where can I get the
MMHTTPDB.php file that is supposed to be there.
I have looked through other posts with the similar problem but did not find
them helpful so far.
Thanks!
Sarah

| Its saying your URL Prefix is incorrect in your site settings.
Post your Dreamweaver site settings here ie Local Info, Remote Info, Testing Server.

| LOCAL INFO
Local Root Folder: C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\mysite\
Http address: http://www.mydomain.com
REMOTE INFO
Access: FTP
FTP Host: My host server name as given to me by my hosting provides
Login: my login
Password: my password
TESTING SERVER
Server Model: PHP MySQL
Accecss: FTP
FTP Host: same as the one in the remote info
login: same as above

| Does your REMOTE INFO test ok?

| And there it is URL Previx: myhostservername/home/virtual/mydomain.com
In the testing server, set your URL Prefix to the same as Http address:
http://www.mydomain.com. For some reason, Dreamweaver defaults this to the ftp
address of your site which is incorrect.

| Thanks for the tip. I updated the URL Previx. However, it is still generating the same error.
Any other suggestions?

| I think I figured out part of this - the _MMServerScripts was in the wrong
location, so I moved it and the URL Prefix error stopped.
But, now I am having another problem.
When I am in the mysql Database Connection popup window, and try to do a
test, it says:
1130 Host, myhostnamehere, is not allowed to connect to this mysql Server.
So, then I decide to append the port to the hostname, and after clicking
"test" it looks like it is connecting because it says "Testing Database
Connection" - but then it says: 2013 Lost Connection to mysql Server during
query.
Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help - this is the first time I have done
this.

| Nevermind - I figured it out. In the mysql Database Connection popup window -
on the MySQLServer field, I had initially pu the server name provided by my
hosting provider. However, I changed this to be localhost - and it connected
just fine.
Thanks!!!!

| Thanks for your post - it helped me solve much the same problem. Dreamweaver
seems to have put the _MMServerScripts folder in the directory above
public_html. When I moved it into public_html - bingo! Now the real fun
begins :D
Note for other newbs here:
I was getting quite demoralised with no response to my appeal for help here or
from my ISP's "support" department. Moral of the story is, even if you don't
get a reply to your own post, keep checking this forum anyway. Chances are
that somebody else will get a response to a similar question with alternative
(better) wording which leads you to the answer that you need.
