Author Help with an upload system
Bushido

I've been hired to develop a real estate firms website. My main concern is on
developing a upload system that would allow them to upload new content,
properties, etc, w/o my help. I know Contribute would work, but I'd like
something web based. I don't know how to, nor want to do the programming
myslef. Is there a resource that can help me develop this from a WYSIWYG
perspective, or a 3rd party solution. I'd even accept bids for this DB
development. All feedback welcome.

This type of site is best driven from a database as that will enable search
routines to be written for it. It is not suited for Contribute.

Unless you are willing to do programming then a third party solution is also
not the way to go as unless you understand the underlying code, you are
going to get stuck when the Client wants to add a new feature.

There is not sufficient information here to provide a vid, but I will be
happy to do so if you email me offline.

You need to implement a CMS product and there are many to choose from. Some
very cheep or free and some expensive, over $25,000. I have worked with
Expressions which is cheap but does require PHP/MySql. With this
implementation you would design the architecture of the site and the
templates and the customer can easily do content updates including graphics,
PDF's etc..
