centralising layers

| Is it possible to make layers rest in a central position of a page irrespective
of the size of explorer page as you can with tables i.e. alignment left,
centre, right, top, middle, bottom etc?
Is it also possible to make a layer fit the page to i.e. 80%, 90% 100% again
as you can with tables?
I would really apprecaite any input on these subjects, or suggestions for
alternative solutions
Many thanks.

No, because layers are absolutely positioned div tags. There's no reason
you can't center a div tag, though. You just have to drop the absolute
positioning that makes it a "layer."

Yep. Enter that as your size.

You can "center" layers by putting them into a centering wrapper div that is
relatively positioned.
