Yes, but it will still be in a square/rectangular shape.

IMHO too much effort for such a little, rather useless effect.
The web is no DTP.

Just pay attention to the "what's the catch" part and know that slicing
your image up like that may lead to slower downloads and incremental
rendering by the browser.
