| When I save a file locally in DM2004MX, it can take anywhere from 20 seconds to
several minutes to save the file. In the meantime, my computer basically locks
up.
I'm running XP SP3
1.6 g
512 meg ram

| I usually run SQL enterprise manager, a browser window and an email program. I have turned off virus checking and this happens even if I turn off all other programs.

| I know enterprise manager uses some resources. You could try shutting that
down. But that doesn't seem to work. I work on my workstation connected to a
server 30 feet away, and it is slow occaisionally. It depends on network
traffic and how big the page is, to me.

| My testing server is on my laptop and even with Enterprise Manager running, my
resource usage isn't even at 20%.
I downloaded a test version of DW8 and it seems to work much more quickly.
Looks like I'll have to upgrade to get a usable piece of software. grrrr.
| |
|
| I'm using DW8 and have started seeing long wait times whenever I try to do
any file work like viewing directories or checking stuff in or out. I get
the "Background operations..." dialog and an hourglass for 10 or more
seconds regularly. It happens whether or not I have aother apps open.
:-( This wasn't issue for me with DW 2004.

| I thought I had fixed the problem by getting DW8. Wrong. If I close out every
other program and use DW, then the slow downs become minimal. But how realistic
is that? I work on the database and check my email regularly during the day so
I have to have some other programs open.

| :frown; How many more complaints about the speed will it take, for Macromedia
to put out a fix??
I went back to 2004, I just could NOT deal with how slow Dreamweaver would
load, then open a file, actually just clicking from code to design is so slow,
I just want to get a new job.............UNACCEPATABLE guys!!

| Out of the 10s of thousands of users, yours is one of a few complaints... I
too have slow issues, though not as extensive as yours... but I know that
it's useless to complain...
