Murray,

I'm soooooo sorry. Everything I told you about my problem at home and at
work was true, except for one detail which I just accidentally came across
and explains everything.

When I went to "About Dreamweaver" to check on the versions of both the home
and work copies, I was greeted with an excruciatingly slow animation stating
that I am using Dreamweaver MX 2004 in both cases. However, wait long enough
and you finally get a proper version number. It took forever to get to it
and it's pure chance that I happened to come across it this time, but when I
saw "7.0", I found it odd that there were no upgrades installed. Turns out
the home version wasn't patched to 7.0.1 as it should have been.

I quickly patched the program and the F12 now works for ASP includes, like
it does at work. I don't remember patching the work copy, but it's a pretty
logical assumption that it's probably patched, whereas the home copy
definitely wasn't.

Note to developers : None of this would have happened if we weren't treated
to a mini movie trailer when pulling out the "About" info before getting the
version number. This is definitely not a place you want to fancy up with
cutesy animation. No one goes to "About" to be entertained.

If I'm not mistaken, if you click into that window during the animation, it
will quickly jump to the final screen...

Perhaps, but that isn't specified anywhere, and the default behavior for
these types of "about" windows is to close when clicked on.

Actually, going through my programs, I'm not sure there IS a default
behavior.

iTunes continually scrolls the silly credits... And clicking IN the window
does nada -- I have to close it with the little left top button (I have to
close many of the about boxes that way, in fact). Many of the others require
me to click an OK button at the bottom...

The only one that I found, on a quick look, that used a click in the box to
close it was Photoshop (so maybe other Adobe products do as well -- I have
no others open now)...

DW quits scrolling with one click.... Closes with the second... Seems
reasonable. ;) Glad you found it anyway... :)
