Sorry, MX, not 7. I was running MX, tried out 2004, and just got 8 yesterday. So, Macromedia's confusing naming scheme confused me.

You weren't alone. 8 is much more direct than MX or MX 2004, IMHO. ;-)

A few points:
- Preferences > General will disable tabs on Mac if that's your desire (as
well as allow you to always show the tab bar, even if only a single document is
open).
- You can reset any/all keyboard shortcuts (even create sets of them) in the
Dreamweaver > Keyboard Shortcuts... menu, give it a shot before going back to
MX 2004 (I'd hate to revert, myself). There's even a DWMX 2004 shortcut set if
you want to make it a quick job.
- I believe 'Preferences > Accessibility will let you turn off the prompt for
image attributes when inserting (don't have DW8 in front of me right now, so
apologies if that's inaccurate - going on memory)
- F12/Shift-F12 was remapped to not conflict with the default Expose keyboard
shortcuts Apple changed to, so you really should complain to Apple on that
point as it forced our hand (but again, you can remap Expose in the System
Preferences panel, and Dreamweaver 8's shortcuts in the Keyboard Shortcuts
dialog noted earlier, so the choice is still yours).

Anything else? ;-)
Hope you find this helpful- no need to revert back unless you REALLY don't
want to, honestly.

Scott- Excellent stuff man, thanks. The only thing I couldn't find is the
keyboard shortcuts. Can you explain where I can find that. Dreamweaver has
always be f12 for me, so when Apple made their change, I simply changed Expose
as you couldn't change Dreamweaver. So, I was surprised to see that you changed
when the previous app wasn't.

Any comment on the properties window showing fonts like MX from sizes -1 thru
1, thru +1 and +7? I think it's a big, because I saw the '3' in the size field
which is what I normally used, but once I selected the actual text in the
layout, the '3'3 changed to 'x-small'.

You've been a big help, I may have jumped the gun with my criticisms. I may
have to upgrade to 8 after all.

Those trigger the insertion of <font> tags. MX2004, and now DW8 install
with HTML styles disabled. You can enable them in the preferences. But you
shouldn't! 8)

You know what, I have to retract- the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog (on Mac that's
the "Dreamweaver menu > Keyboard Shortcuts...") lets you bind key combos to
just about everything else *except* the PIB shortcuts (which are managed by
Preferences > Preview In Browser, and don't allow remapping).
So apologies- my bad. That's actually a great feature request for the future.
If I recall correctly, DWMX 2004 came out before the Expose change (which
messed up Preview in Browser for a lot of people), which is why the change was
made in DW8. Sorry for the head-fake there. <g>

I think Murray beat me to the punch there- I'd simply +1 his comments,
honestly. ;-)

Glad that helped! I'd definitely give it a bit more of a shot, I'd honestly
consider going back to DWMX 2004 more painful than a week's worth of dental
surgery at this point. There have been a few shifts to my workflow (mostly
related to workspace and the new tab features, and the Unified CSS panel)- I'm
mainly a Mac user), but nothing that I didn't adjust to quickly.
