Author Mapping CSS files

Hi all,

My first post : )

When defining a site, you are able to map your image folder, site root etc. I
was wondering if this was possible to do this with CSS files as well? I don't
want the CSS file to be actually written into each page in DW as i have some
code that does that for me when i render each page.

If it's not possible will DW8 have this mapping CSS feature, or is something
Macromedia haven't come up with yet?

Thanks in advance
Tom.

CSS will only be used on the pages that you specify.

Tom,

The Site-Root relative mapping applies to all dependent files, not just
images. Is that what you are asking?

If you are inserting style into you page via code (on either server or
client), then use the Design Time Style Sheet feature to define style
sheets that are only used at design-time.

Hey Randy,

Thanks your answer. Design Time Style Sheet feature worked well, but it still
didn't meet my requirements : )

I was thinking more down the lines of saving the applied stylesheet, so
whenever i opened up a document, DW would apply the CSS i'd attached
previously. Like a saved settings thing.

Something which can be changed for each site you have defined.

Am i making this any clearer?

Thanks again
Tom.

Design Time Style Sheets (DTSS) settings are copied when you copy a
file, so I think that you can achieve your requirements as follows:

1. Create a new page
2. Apply your DTSS
3. Save it to disk (with a name like "_new.htm")
4. Make a copy of _new.htm

Notice that the DTSS is already applied!

Also, Paul Boon has written an extension for applying DTSS's to multiple
files:

Hope this helps,
Randy
