After upgrade to 8: Deactivating MX2004
|

| After installing my upgrade to Studio 8, I'd like to remover MX 2004.
I wonder however, if I need to deactivate it or if this will compromise my
install of 8.
I'd like to run the old version on my old Mac while I get to grips with 8, so
I'd like to be able to install it.

| DW8 and DWMX are installed seperately, therefore you can remove one without
affecting the other. If your MX license is windows I don't think you can
install on a Mac as you typically buy Windows or Mac versions.

I think MM allows you to install DW on two computers. (ones supposed to
be a portable machine but how the hell they can tell the difference is
beyond me) So if you have one install left I can't see any reason why
you can't install onto your old Mac, providing it has the necessary
capacity to run the software of course.
As the previous poster stated, MX2004 and 8 instal independently. The
platforms will need to be the same though. You can't run DW-PC on a Mac
or vice-versa.

| Thanks.
I understand that they are not platform independent - both are Macs.
My strategy is to deactivate and delete MX 2004 on my PB and install it on my
G4, which keeps the installation number to 1.
This way the second installation can be reserved for troublesome times when a
computer crashes during an allnighter.
