Hey All,
I am having a problem with my swf files. I try to upload a newly named (but
same size) swf file into an html page and it won't show up. I save the new swf
in the html page and upload the two to the server and can see they both made
it, but the new swf file won't play online. What's up here?

thanks, Ian

Refresh your browser a few times. Close it and reopen it. Clear the cache
and temporary files. Flash seems to stay in your local cache forever if it
has the same filename and size so it thinks it's the same file.

Yeah, I've run into this problem before, especially when the file name is the
same. In this case tho, I've changed the file name (ie. page_header.swf to
page_header2.swf). This used to solve the problem, but lately it seems that
it's back. I've even tried making the swf file a slightly different size and
moved the layer that it's in slightly on the htm page. Oh, by the way, I build
in layers, should that make any difference? It hasn't up til now. It seems to
be the same problem in whatever browser I try, IE, mozilla, safari. What else
can I try, this is driving me crazy.

and for the Neil Pert guy, here's a little code, this is off a page that won't
show an swf file that is, as far as I can tell, on the server.
the page is, www.atavision.com/designlinks.htm
and here comes the code,
</div>
<div id="Layer6" style="position:absolute; left:213px; top:30px; width:350px;
height:40px; z-index:12">
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#ve
rsion=6,0,29,0" width="350" height="40">
<param name="movie" value="designlinks_header.swf">
<param name="quality" value="high"><param name="LOOP" value="false">
<embed src="designlinks_header.swf" width="350" height="40" loop="false"
quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object>
</div>
