I want to try the Dreamweaver 8 trial. Will I be able to install Dreamweaver
8 without removing Dreamweaver MX 2004? Will the two run side-by-side?
Anybody tried it?

Yes, each version is a separate install. (This question has been asked and
answered a few times already.)

Word of caution, though: I installed the trial and the next time I turned on
my computer afterwards, it wouldn't boot up. I don't yet know why. I had to do
a System Restore (which uninstalled the trial) to get it to boot again.

I would have to say that I never heard of anyone having this problem, so it
would be hard to say that they are definitely related.

Yep, but if you're going to set up the same site def on both, turn on
checking-in/checking-out so you dont end up erasingyour own changes from one
version to the next
