Author DW 8 very slow openin with Site Cache

Hi,

just got DW 8 (hoped to replace my old DW MX as I skipped 2004) Now I notice
its much slower then MX and even slower then 2004 when opening sites with
active Site Cache. One of my main sites has about 30000 html pages and 80000
files in total. Startup which is almost instant with MX is now about 3 mintues
and closing needs now about 15 minutes regardless if I have recreated the site
cache during that session or not. In earlier versions DW closed very fast, only
when I had recreated the site cache, because I changed templates or the cache
got corrupted it needed this long. Now it rewrites the cache each time and
needs at least 15 minutes for closing.!!! And it seems that the cache is always
written twice, but I guess this was already like that in DW 2004 (and the
reason why i stayed with MX).
(on a Athlon XP 2 4400, 2 GB RAM, Raid 0 with WD Raptors 74 GB)!

Any suggestions besides switching of the site cache?

Thanks
Frank

You asked this question a while back and nothing's changed. Switching off
the cache is the only real world alternative it seems.
