| This one's annoying. I downloaded the DW 8 trial at work, and it installed
fine. I copied it to my ipod, took it home to install on an XP SP2 machine
that had DW MX 2004 on it previously. I uninstalled DW 2004 and then installed
DW 8. When I launch 8 I get an error from Macromedia Product Activation that
says "Please reinstall your software. A problem was deteced with your
application. Please reinstall this softwar to correct the problem."
No errors were given during installation. I tried disabling my antivirus
(same brand, Trend micro, was on the other machine and enabled with no
problems). I re-downloaded the trial and tried that again, same result.
Running the installer again and choosing Repair didn't fix it.
I uninstalled, removed the folder, removed the Macromedia folder in the
Program Files\Common area, opened the registry and removed every key for
Macromedia, emptied the trash, emptied the Dowloaded Installation Programs
folder in Windows, emptied my Local Settings\Temp folder, then reinstalled and
STILL get this error.
I'd love to try DW 8, but it just won't let me! Any other ideas???
