Dreamweaver 8 - cells resize

| I'm having trouble moving cells in layout view (using the keyboard). The cell
starts expanding then moves other cells with it. When I try to move the cell
to the right, everything in the table moves to the left! This is not happening
in Dreamweaver MX. I've checked all my preferences and they seem to match my
Dreamweaver MX prefs. I'll have to go back to using MX until I get it figured
out. Any suggestions why DW8 would be doing this and not MX??? Thanks so much!

| I have no idea how to help you because I am never in layout mode.
May I suggest that you get out of layout mode and into design/code view...
this article explains why : http://apptools.com/rants/spans.php

| Can you give me an explicit set of steps to see what you are describing?

| Quick Steps:
1. In DW8 (Layout View) draw a table.
2. draw two cells, one on top of the other, same size.
3. nudge the bottom cell to the right (notice cells changing size).
4. try to nudge the bottom cell back to the original position (notice the
empty cells that were created do not disappear, BOTH cells start moving).
5. this doesn't happen if opening the file in DW MX (Layout View), you can
move the cells around independently and any empty cells created disappear when
nudging the cell back to the orgininal position.
(sample page: http://www.wystudios.com/TEST-cells-steps.htm)
I know many people suggest not using Layout View - I've had good results so
far with MX but not with DW 8. Thanks for the suggestions.

| DW8 - WXPPro - Create new Basic HTML 4.01 Strict page.
1. Drew table
2. Drew two cells in center of table, one on top of the other, same size
(99x48)
3. nudge the bottom cell to the right (after first nudge, both cells became
100x48, and remained at that size)
4. try to nudge the bottom cell back to the original position (notice the
empty cells that were created do not disappear, BOTH cells start moving -
confirmed)
That's enough for me. I would never use Layout mode again. I feel so
dirty.
I'll report it.
