Thanks for your help murray..yes I can prove it :D

Please look http://www.scgs.qld.edu.au/help/scr...nt_relative.gif is a
screenshot of the template page with the css files referenced relative to the
document.

You can see that the rendering of styles is definately affected using root vs
document relative links. Also note the missing image in the template when the
image is part of a library item.

My document type is PHP ADODB and the server model is PHP.

Is this a bug? or is there a solution?

Cheers

Dean

I have already posted about this (including a fix)
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/w...?catid=189&thre
adid=1050891&forumid=12

Are you working on a site that is on a network? are you using direct network
paths starting \\ in the DW site profile?

It seems DW8 does not like these paths (Although DWMX is fine), to fix it map
a drive letter to the network path and point to that in your site profile,
should fix this issue until they release a fix.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, you are absolutley correct! I am using UNC paths ie //server1/folder/ to
define my site.

I can't believe this doesn't work for DW8 :Q

I am in an intranet environment where the mapped drives are tightly
contrrolled for all users. I will have some trouble getting my network guys to
allow me to map a drive to the web server.

Macromedia..please fix this. DW MX2004 handles this no probs, so should DW8

Cheers

Dean

Have you completed the http:// field in the local site's definition?

http://www.mydomainname.com

mydomainname.com being the domain pointing to my internal server where the
files are.

But I don't think with will help you much.

As has been said in the other posts, the bug is only visible when using UNC
pathing in site manager and is fine in DWMX. Have you tested this yourself?

I don't have a testbed on which I can try it. But I'll see if I can get an
answer for you.
