Author DW will not search UP the document

The find and replace feature is a good one. It goes one step further than my
normal TextPad editor that I'm used to. I would like to migrate my millions of
unconscious coding habits over to DreamWeaver, but one of the ones I use most
doesn't seem to be there. When searching for text, TextPad has a hotkey that
will allow you to search both up and down the document for a match. DreamWeaver
will only search down the document. Is there a way to have it get the previous
match? Even text editors as simple as Windows Notepad have this essential
feature. It's hard to believe that this multi-million dollar software is
lacking it. I really hope I'm just overlooking it somewhere.

My MX2004 searches up without a problem

Perhaps you might be able to tell me how you got Dreamweaver to do that? Simply
stating, "It works for me" doesn't really help much... no offense.

I don't see any options inside the find dialogue box, and I am new to
Dreamweaver, so I don't know all the hot-keys.

That's what I thought. I hear DW can be extended and modified. I'm a
developer... is there some sort of arrangement like Open Source communities use
where I can make code changes and recommend the change to Macromedia? DW is
already very extensible, and the programming model is very well laid-out. I
don't think it would be too difficult to make the change.

Sorry that you wanted more info than I provided.

As described in walker25419's reply, the entire document (or the entire
site) IS being searched as described.

Since this accomplishes everything I've ever needed, I know of no settings
to alter it.

Good luck
