Author importing files

I have been using Front Page 2000 for 4 years now. I am in the process of
switching to Dreamweaver MX 2004. In Front Page, you are able to import image
files into folders. I cannot seem to find a way to do that in Dreamweaver. Can
someone help me? Thanks.

Copy the image files to the clipboard and paste them into the folder.
You're done.

Please forget everything you knew about FP. DW is not FP.

Jeff. I have never used Front Page and by far am not familiar with HTML code.
However, when 'importing' images, I create a folder in my files (assets,
files). Once the folder is created, I open my site in the finder window and
drag all my images to that specific (new) folder. I return to the site in
Macromedia and refresh my files. The images should appear there for your use
in any of your pages. Hope this helps.

I was in the same situation. The best way I think to change your understanding
is that FP makes you a little lazy. It creates all the folders for you.
Basically, creat a new folder on you computer which is going to be your web.
Make an images, flash, etc. folder and save the htmls in the folder. Then you
just upload all the files. Just make sure when you use an image, flash, etc.,
you point it to the file in your web folder. Hope that helps.

Please explain what you mean by, "copy the image files to the clipboard". I did a search for clipboard in the help section and nothing came up.

Use Finder or Explorer. Copy the files to the Windows/Mac clipboard. Paste
into the desired folder within the root of the desired site. Bada bing,
bada boom....

Select. EDIT | Copy, or Ctrl-C.

You have just used the clipboard.

GET files gets them from the remote server and places them in your local
site.

You have used computers before, right?
