I'm very distressed at the performance of DW8.
I'm using the free trial on Mac OSX.
When I do any of the following, it takes several minutes of spinning icons to
register:
Change to a different site
Find/Change sitewide
Something else I've forgotten.

I'm on 10.4.2 and have plenty of RAM and HD space.

Hmmm... changing between a site that has 2'400 documents and one that has 1'900 documents takes about 2 seconds here.

I also had similar problems but I found that the performance improved if I closed the Assets panel.

I had problems with DW8 crashing everytime I tried to expand the Files menu.
It turned out to be the Assets panel that was freezing it up.... I couldn't
figure out how to close the Assets panel without DW crashing until I switched
to a site with few files (or create a new one). I then was able to switch to
the Assets panel without it crashing. I closed that panel then quit DW8 so it
would save it in case it crashed.

Amazing! It's fixed.
Closing the Assets panel makes it all OK.
