Author Navigation bar set-up

I wonder if someone could help me. I have a horizontally aligned navigation
bar on my webpage and I would like to change its orientation so that it is
vertically aligned - I cannot seem to find out if there is a quick way to do
this or if I will need to set up the nav bar again from scratch (hopefully
not). If I could toggle between the two just to see whether the format works
better with the rest of the page it would be super.

Thanks in advance

pretty hard to give advice without seeing how you set up the original
navbar....
post a link if you can.
