Google this newsgroup - this question has been asked and answered (mainly by
Murray) more then a handful of times in the past fortnight. In fact, in the
past day or two even.

Perhaps this will get you started: http://apptools.com/rants/mailto.php

| Well said Brendan. But that was in relation to the "forms" question. This
poster does raise a new question
> "i don't know why i dont understand anything .........."
In answer to this, it is most likely in relation to your trying hard enough
(see...searching forums)

Its probably exponentially related to this:
"i'm useless at this"
;-p

| I think your response was a little unfair. As I understand it, this forum is
here to help people use Dreamweaver effectively and get help with the things
that they don't understand from people who have many years experience with web
technologies and happily volunteer their advice.
For some IT technology is easy to pick up but for others it is not so easy. I
generally pick things up very quickly but when it comes to using Javascript I
am confused aswell.
Perhaps diana is new to using forums and is not able to search effectively.
Don't you think we should be encouraging people to learn rather than berating
them "In answer to this, it is most likely in relation to your not trying hard
enough (see...searching forums)"

| michmosaic ,
I understand what your saying I felt the same way when I first came here then
someone explained its a little harmless fun. sort of a stress reliever. most
will have a job outside of the forums, maybe tired of the same old questions,
and giving the same old answers repeatedly.
What you and Diana will notice is always at the end of the 'fun' comes the
'real solution' just a matter of waiting.

| Thanks dreamer. Guess so - it's just that some people may take it the wrong way, like me! ;)

I think just about EVERYONE has a job outside this form because nobody
is paid to be here. People do it for a diversion and for relaxation. If
there wasn't a little humor it would not be worth the energy. The moral
of the story is, don't take it personally.

Well, there's humour and then there's 'humour' as your acquaintance
Pablo found out.
p.s.
I like your site, very 'clean' look.

Thanks. Believe it or not, it was mostly Pablo's unselfish work that
gave it that look. I am an absolutely crappy designer. :-)

Hang around a bit more and you'll learn not to take anything the wrong way
:-)
You have to watch out for the 'smileys' at the end of most messages...

We encourage people here all the time. Pointing people to the search
facility is one way to teach them how to try and finds answers on their own.
A "form" question is asked here several times a day and a brief search of
the days questions would reveal this.
Yes, most of us have been here for years and post the same answers over and
over again... having a bit of fun (and that doesn't mean poking fun *at*
people) relieves the stress levels as mentioned by Gary :-D

Direct from Macromedia[1]:
Before you post a question, please search[2] Macromedia's Web site
to see if the answer is already available. Answers to a lot of
questions are often already in TechNotes, the discussion group, or
in other resources. Looking in your product documentation and on
our Web site can often get you answers to your questions faster
than posting in our Online Forums. These resources, including our
large collection of TechNotes, are the same resources that
Macromedia technical support uses to help you.
On that first page[1], there's lots of other useful stuff, too.
