I have taken on a non-profit website. It needs a complete redesign, so I
thought it might be a good time to try dropping tables for a CSS-P design.

I would like to have something similar to a 3col, 2row table. I started to
work on just getting a 3col design to display. I am working thru the tutorial
for a 3col liquid design at:
http://css.maxdesign.com.au/floatut...utorial0901.htm

I plan a fixed width layout and have tried to adapt as I went. The first two
colums work in Safari with the third falling below the other 2. In FF its a
nightmare. Whatever I'm doing wrong has eluded me.

Are floats the way to do this? Or is this a job for tables?

Any help would be appreciated.

See if Thierrys' article helps you:

If not, I don't believe there is anything wrong with using a table in this
situation :-)

Thank you Nadia. I'll give it a try. I'm not under any constraints with this
project, so i was trying to squeeze in some dedicated learning. Thanks again.

make sure the combined widths or your floats (including borders,
margins) does not exceed the width of the container.
